“Taxi Sign Language” is an exploration of the similarities between taxi hand signs and South African Sign Language. The taxi rank in different destinations along with the distinctive mini-bus taxis are mapped out at an urban scale of 1/1000 exploring the contextual differences though building typologies, demographic of users, population density, architecture, urban planning, layout of road infrastructure and so on.

Grolsch Art Fridge Campaign

Royal Grolsch and BrownEyedBoy Curators invited me and 13 other artists to create bespoke work of art on iconic SMEG bar sized fridges. The fridges were exhibited during the Art Week Joburg 2014 (19-24 August 2014) and at the Museum of African Design (MOAD) as part of Grolsch’s marketing campaign and corporate investments in local artists.

Linocut Printmaking: The Artist and the City

These original prints encapsulate the fusion of the contrasting worlds of being South African, Indian and deaf, which is presented through the combination of architectural drawings, sign language, taxi hand signs and Indian dance hand gestures (mudras).
