The two perspective drawings came from my 2013 Master of Architecture (Professional) design dissertation which focuses on the principles of Universal Design and the spatial challenges people with disabilities face within the built environment beyond wheelchair access. The product of the research is an Extra-Sensory Expo located on the fringe of Cape Town CBD district. The Extra-Sensory Expo is designed to reflect the different worlds of people with disabilities and turn the tables on society’s attitudes toward people with disabilities.

When I had a chance to see it in real life, I chose to represent the mystical and spiritual properties of the river using the colour gold.
